BIO
I'm a former modern dancer and gymnast turned yogini... now a sacred activist seeking altruistic truth and spiritual evolution.
I'm originally from a small mountain town in Maine where I grew up running barefoot in the forest connecting with Nature, but the formal genesis of my yogic path was at Emerson College where I earned my Dance BFA and studied eastern philosophy.
Moved to NYC in 1999 and after five years of pursuing a modern dance career I shifted gears and completed my 200 Hour certification with David Hollander and Govinda Kai.
In 2005 I started teaching at Sonic and began studying with Shiva Rea and her tribe. Now I have a 500 Hour certification in Prana Flow which included a trip to Kerala, India to study Kalari, the only form of the most ancient traditional systems of physical, culture, self-defence and martial techniques still in existence.
A natural born mover and bona fide vinyasa junkie, my heart led me Kula Yoga Project and Schuyler Grant and now I also have a 75 Hour Advanced Kula Flow certification.
The choreographer in me geeks out on innovative and creative vinyasa sequences, the pitta in me likes a juicy, sweaty flow, the straight A student needs intelligent anatomical alignment, and the New Yorker I've become craves sweet relief from the battlefields of Manhattan streets in a blissed-out savasana.
